Laura Miller and Ben Fraser

Way back when, around the new millennium, the boyfriend-girlfriend duo of Ben Fraser and Laura Miller (that's us) teamed up to shoot weddings together. They were fun! In fact, we loved weddings so much we decided to have one of our own. It was a marvelous and hot summer afternoon, with enough photographer friends present that our relatives said they had never seen so many cameras in their life. We treasure those pictures, taken through the eyes of multiple artists with different view points and tools of the trade, and we aim to bring you the same satisfaction. In addition to our primary cameras, we love to bring along a few extras, including our Hasselblad, X-pan (panoramic), Holga, and half-frame. Images from these special cameras all have their own look and feel. Some produce beautiful vignettes, some are square, some make things a little soft and dreamy. Sometimes the cameras are slower to operate, and their functional slowness makes us slow down and become extra thoughtful about each and every frame. Many of our best images happen when we are working within these very deliberate parameters. The process influences the product, and we feel that an occasion as special as a wedding warrants the attention of some old-fashioned technology. We want to take the kind of pictures that your grandchildren might discover years later in a glassine envelope or a wooden box, pictures that would look as good in a modern coffee-table album as in a handmade book attached by photo corners. Today, almost ten years since our beginning, not much has changed. We are still Weddings By Two, and we’re a little bigger, but not by much. We’ve teamed up with a very few of our photographer friends who share our approach and vision. Just how good are our partners? We're glad you asked. We are unreasonably picky people. All the time, it’s "only the best this, only the best that," and in this case, only the best people. We'd hire them ourselves to shoot our own wedding, if only we could relive that lovely day again.
